If you are an active healthcare professional interested in expanding your current practice into the field of manual osteopathy, the Master’s Certificate in Osteopathy (MCO) will help you reach your career goals.

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the musculoskeletal system and related disorders. Completion of the MCO study will enable you to integrate effective osteopathic techniques in the treatment of backaches, general joint problems, sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, and conditions associated with the aging body.

Through interactive audio-visual learning materials you will acquire the knowledge and skillset essential to treating your client’s complaints using information from case histories, physical examinations, observations of body structure and mobility, and medical imaging.

Program Content

An eight-course curriculum delivers comprehensive understanding of advanced anatomy and physiology, organ and system pathologies and biomechanics. Particular focus is placed on degenerative conditions of the musculoskeletal system, with special emphasis on disorders of the spine and major joints.

Osteopathic courses within the program delve into the origins of osteopathic philosophy and principles as well as provide a solid conceptual foundation by explaining osteopathic approach to health and disease.

The theory and practical application behind the most effective osteopathic techniques are taught through lectures and instructional videos.


Online textbooks, recorded lectures, downloadable lecture slides, video tutorials, handouts/readings.


Each course requires completion of 3 quizzes and a Final exam. Passing grade is 75%.

Second Module – Osteopathic Research

The submission of osteopathic research relevant to a student’s professional specialization is an essential component of the MCO study. The thesis paper should be written in the form of a persuasive essay. Students will answer or explore a challenging question and should generate and argue an original thesis relevant to the field of their specialization.
